ISO refers to the film spedm flim speed refers to how sensitive the flim/pixels are to light, think of how fast the light comes in.

When I used flash it made the picture became dark but when I used ISO 5000 it became lighter. The more we uped the ISO the more lighter it became.

I just have Asia sitting under these christmas light sort of things.

I would chose ISO over flash because flash makes the picture look dark, and ISO make it look lighter.

You have to be careful because the picture may look grany.
